Dorota was also longlisted for the 2016 Aesthetica Art Prize. One of her on-going projects is Map Books, which was inspired by travelling in South-East Asia in 2015. She is a member of Ormond Studios in Dublin.

Exploring has been Dorota’s main subject and source of inspiration. The process of painting. Light. A place between reality and abstraction. The process of painting has become the starting point for all Borowa's recent works. She often uses tools other than brushes to create a meaning for her works. In the Touching the Moon series she painted with her fingerprints or the Rainy Paintings series which she created by exposing her paintings to rain. Her works thus become a place between accident and design, between acceptance and destruction.
